Auditions for The Best Christmas Pageant Ever

Barbara Robinson’s beloved 1972 children’s book, turned play, turned TV film (starring Loretta Swit aka Hotlips Houlihan) comes back to life on stage for a whole new generation this holiday season.

Seeking 9-12 performers to play all 25+ roles in the show. All roles open to all auditioning (ages 17 and up)

Character Descriptions (Please note we are doing a all adult cast)

Actors will be playing about 3 different characters!!!
Everyone auditioning will be considered for all parts.

FATHER (Bob Bradley) – solid family man
MOTHER (Grace Bradley) – trim, attractive
BETH BRADLEY – the narrator, strong voice and presence
CHARLIE BRADLEY – traditional kid brother
RALPH HERDMAN – ragged, scroungy, slouching manner, touch of adolescent cool
IMOGENE HERDMAN – loud, bossy, crafty
LEROY HERDMAN – tough, sure of himself
CLAUDE HERDMAN – tough, combative
OLLIE HERDMAN – looking for trouble, Claude’s usual partner in crime
GLADYS HERDMAN – small, wiry, fiesty
ALICE WENDLEKEN – prim, proper, pain in the neck
MRS. ARMSTRONG – largish woman, managerial in voice and manner
MRS. SLOCUM – pleasant, motherly woman
